🌱 6th Grade Ag Science in Action! 🌧️🪙

Today in Mr. Forthman’s 6th Grade Agriculture class, students explored the power of cohesion and adhesion using the Nature’s Unhooked curriculum. Students tested how many drops of water could fit on a penny—and then flipped the experiment by seeing how many pennies could be added into a full cup of water before the surface tension finally gave out! 💧✨ These hands-on investigations help students understand how water behaves in soil, plants, and the environment—real-world science that connects directly to Agriculture. 🌾🌿 Our students worked hard, asked great questions, and had a blast discovering the “sticky” science behind water! Proud of their curiosity and teamwork today!

🎃 Pumpkin Dissection in Junior High Ag! 🌽

Mr. Forthman’s Junior High Agriculture students put their scientific 🔬 and agricultural 🌱 skills to work this week during a pumpkin dissection lab! Students explored the anatomy of a pumpkin 🎃, identified seeds and structures 🌾, and discussed how pumpkins grow and play a role in Missouri agriculture 🚜.
A huge thank-you 🙏 to Walmart 🛒 for donating a $75 gift card 💳 that helped purchase pumpkins for every class! Each group got hands-on experience—measuring 📏, counting 🔢, observing 👀, and yes, getting a little messy 😄 while learning! It’s always great to see students engaged, curious, and having fun 🤩 while connecting science and agriculture in real-life ways.

We are so proud of this incredible group! Only 7 or 8 of these athletes have ever run cross country before—this was brand new territory for the rest of them. But today, they showed up, dug deep, and did something hard. No complaints, just pure effort, heart, and determination. 💪🏼

They gave it their all, finished strong, and amazed us every step of the way. Their courage to step outside their comfort zones and face a challenge head-on is nothing short of inspiring.

What. A. Group. 👏🏼💙

🎶 Something special happened in Mrs. Powell’s Music Class yesterday! 🎶

With some students out on a trip, the class had a surprise “guest” musician! One of the students recently bought a guitar and, since the class has been learning the ukulele, he asked if he could bring it in to share what he’s been practicing. 🎸🎵

We love seeing students so excited to share their talents and enthusiasm for music! 💫
