Individualized Education Program
IEP: An IEP is an individualized plan that is laid out to support the specific needs of a child found eligible for special education. The IEP is a legal and binding document that is supported by the Individuals with Disabilities Act(IDEA).
Attending IEP meetings can seem overwhelming. To make the meeting more meaningful, think about some the questions below that you might have when coming to an IEP meeting as a parent.
What do you want for your child in the future?
What goals do you wish to implement to help your child become more independent?
What specific goals do you have for your child during the current school year?
What do you feel are strengths for your child?
What do you feel are your child's greatest needs?
Do you have any specific concerns?
